Route 66 crosses more than 25 Indigenous sovereign nations. We recognize that the land for Route 66 came through settler colonialism and displacement of Native American peoples. We recognize the pain and damage done to this land and its people. We honor the past, present, and future generations who have lived, resisted, and survived here for millennia along this road. We will do this by striving to address the history of displacement, dislocation, racial segregation and colonialism throughout this workshop.
